Pendle Hill, Gatsby and Preston Brook are the three for the shortlist here and we will side with the first mentioned. The selection was not given a difficult race when well beaten down the field behind Glynn Dingle at Perth last time, as he was eased down after hitting a fence hard two from home. He will relish the testing conditions and if the market speaks in his favour he could be the one to side with. Gatsby could be a likely alternative as he ran well enough when second in a point-to-point at Chepstow last time, and he has the useful Harry Fowler in the plate. Preston Brook also has a good jockey booking in Tom Greenall and he hails from a yard that do well in this sphere, so he could go well. The market will provide us with all the clues here so any positive moves should be noted, but we will make Pendle Hill a tentative choice.
