Alfred The Grey gets a narrow vote over Anshabil, with Inland Run, Count Oski and Farceur others to consider. There are plenty of duck-eggs around here, but Alfred The Grey has shown enough this year to warrant consideration in such a poor contest. Second to the progressive Robber at Fontwell the time before last, he failed to step up on that on a return to the Sussex track a fortnight ago, but it is hoped that the step up in trip will bring about some improvement in Gary Moore's charge who is not badly handicapped on last season's efforts. Anshabil is lightly raced and showed he has some scope when travelling well until falling two out on his chase debut at Stratford. As long as that has not knocked his confidence than Alan King's six-year-old can play a part. Inland Run was beaten a distance after setting the pace at Worcester last time and may have stamina limitations, while Count Oski failed to impress when third of four at Wetherby. Any support for Farceu should be noted, but he has not shone yet, and it is to Alfred The Grey we turn as the answer to a tricky affair.
