Verdict

This is a really hard race to sort out, as so many have claims. Norman Mason has put a claimer up on Red Minster who won off a mark of 72 in heavy ground at Newcastle. the step up in trip should not be a problem. Although Profiler has not yet scored for Ferdy Murphy, he showed ability both on the Flat, and over hurdles when trained by Val Ward, so with the yard in form he is another to make a note of. Renaloo was a beaten favourite at Fontwell last time but was staying on all the time and he too will benefit from the extra distance, as will Real Estate. Glanmerin caught the eye when second at Southwell and is well treated on the best of his form. At 12 he is fully exposed, but goes well here, having won twice in the past. The one to beat though is Copper Shell who will get a strong ride from Timmy Murphy, having been partnered by an amateur when second at Folkestone last time. He can be a bit moody but has ability and his former trainer Gary Moore always though that he would be better over two and a half miles. If that last run was no fluke, he should be proved right here.
