Verdict

Sun Spider is a possible improver but the three more established performers above him look more solid. Towering clearly appreciated not having to jump fences when landing a similar contest here last time on his first start for his current stable but still made heavy weather of things. He's a player but HORACE HAZEL makes greater appeal stepping into this grade for the first time and also blinkered. He's effective over this trip and recent placed efforts at Stratford and Uttoxeter in respectable handicap company read well in the context of this contest. A repeat of either run would suffice with Ballyrock, who just failed to back up a Fakenham win a seller when narrowly outpointed at Ffos Las, likely to emerge as the chief threat.
