Skylancer has run creditably in recent starts, including in a handicap at Market Rasen last month, but James Lambe's gelding seems a shade high in the weights and preference is for TREVIAN, who gets the vote with Storm Prospect rated the pick of the remainder. The selection has not raced since November but Tim Vaughan has his string in good form so lack of a recent outing need not be of concern and he looks worth chancing off what seems a fair mark. Midnite Blues was good value for his win at Perth last month but a 9lb rise for that success makes this tougher for the four-year-old. Recent Cartmel selling hurdle winner Wesleydale Web looks the pick of Martin Todhunter's two runners ahead of Royal Game but she has been raised 11lbs since then which looks harsh. Veiled Applause has not raced over hurdles for over a year but does come here fit and in reasonable form from the flat so he has to be considered. Lucinda Russell's Storm Prospect was slightly disappointing at Wetherby last time but earlier form is solid and he has every chance but it may be worth taking a chance on Trevian on his reappearance.
