    Verdict

Talama Lady has the form in the bag and is worth supporting over Reno, with Red Nose Lady also worth bearing in mind. Talama Lady, a dual bumper winner in the past, appreciated the faster conditions when scooting up at Uttoxeter a fortnight ago, and bypassed Perth last Sunday to wait for this event. It is hard to see anything troubling Alan Swinbank's mare if she runs up to her mark and she gets a confident vote. Reno has yet to open her account under either code and seemed to give in a bit too easily at Wetherby. The ground was on the soft side though and she may be better suited by today's conditions. Red Nose Lady is another long-standing maiden but is starting to look better handicapped and bids to atone for a last-flight blunder at Uttoxeter that may have cost her second place. The rest are hard to fancy, and Talama Lady is the one that they all have to beat.
