In depth

Verdict

MONEY MAID, a winner between the flags, was having her first start over three miles and only her second over fences when just failing to catch Two Smokin Barrels at Wetherby and can go one better. You Too Pet has won three point-to-points and looked a dour stayer when runner-up over 2m7f at Taunton so the longer trip will suit. Tutchec was racing from a 32lb higher mark at this stage last season and though not showing much recently should be taking advantage of his falling mark soon. Monderon was well supported on his reappearance at Taunton after a long break and though struggling when brought down was obviously thought capable of better and is one to note. Kapricorne, three times a winner over hurdles, is still a maiden over fences but went close at Huntingdon and is on a very fair mark nowadays. The veteran point-to-pointer Gale Force Oscar would have to be considered if repeating his very close second at Southwell last time.
