SOLAR MAX is taken to land the opener for Charlie Egerton, while Giorgio Quercus is likely to provide the biggest threat to the selection. Solar Max has had one run so far over hurdles and he was doing all his best work at the finish of a two mile novices' contest. This extra furlong will be to his advantage and he will get plenty further in time, and the ground should not be a problem, so we will side with him. Giorgio Quercus relished getting his toe in when in his native France and now has his first run for Nicky Henderson. The master of Seven Barrows will surely have him ready to go well first time and a win would be no surprise. Morestead won a fast ground maiden hurdle at Fontwell last month and conditions look to have gone against him here, while Rock Me has not yet encountered ground this soft, so has a bit to prove, but he has also landed a maiden hurdle and has some ability. No To Trident is rated in the 70s on the flat, so if David Evans has him ready to jump a hurdle he can be thereabouts, though he has to prove he handles cut, and we'll take Solar Max to score.
