BRADSELL may have needed the run more than most when beaten a length-and-a-half by Cold Case in the Commonwealth Cup Trial at Ascot. Last year’s Coventry Stakes winner had excuses when well behind Little Big Bear in the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh last August and the latter has something to prove himself now having run no sort of race when fancied for the 2000 Guineas last month. The Ridler was also a Royal Ascot winner last year while Al Dasim was far from disgraced in the Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan in March having rattled up a five-timer previously and Shouldvebeenaring is proving to be a tough and genuine sprinter. The 1000 Guineas third Matilda Picotte can’t be ignored and Mill Stream still has scope.

Little Big Bear (IRE) 5-1 (9-2) Pulled hard, tracked leaders, hung left 6f out, pushed along over 2f out, weakened over 1f out, last of 14, 23 1/2l behind Chaldean (9-2) at Newmarket 1m Grp 1 stks (1) sft in May.
Mill Stream (IRE) 18-5 (9-3) Held up towards rear, headway and switched right inside 2f out, soon hung left, no impression, lost 3rd and no extra well inside final furlong, 4th of 9, 5 1/4l behind Chaldean (9-3) at York 7f Grp 3 stks (1) gd in Aug.
