Another hot-looking sprint. Raasel missed the break when finishing more than two lengths behind race-fit runner-up Live In The Dream in the Palace House at Newmarket but still finished ahead of Existent, Sandbeck, Twilight Calls and Equality. Happy Romance got back to winning ways at Bath and Royal Aclaim has plenty of scope for further improvement, though she has more than three lengths to find with The Platinum Queen on their run together in the Nunthorpe at York last year. Roger Varian’s filly did really well against older sprinters in her first season, landing the Prix de l’Abbaye in October. She may well have gone over the top when disappointing in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Sprint Turf later but DRAMATISED ran a cracker in that race to be only beaten a length. Winner of the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot last June, the latter should hold her own at the highest level this season.
