A typical large-field York handicap to begin the day and any number of chances as usual. MAYWAKE is shaping as if a win is nigh though, first-time cheekpieces are applied in the hope of eking out a little more improvement and he has a course and distance victory on his CV. He should be in the mix. Albeseeingyer is a rare sight in a York handicap, having rattled up five in a row and is now 23lb higher than at the start of her winning spree. She's up in class too but was impressive last time and can't be ruled out. Another Investment's excellent latest effort over course and distance at this level brings him bang into contention along with the in-form Bicep, and La Maquina is one to note if his new yard can get him to return to something like his best.
