Childesplay won under Tom Marquand at Ascot but is 11lb higher here. Bushcraft is very lightly-raced and has yet to finish out of the frame. He's won three of his five starts and may have more to offer but Distant Past has been showing his best form over 5f while Ripon winner Nameitwhatyoulike may not be suited by today's quicker surface. Barkston Ash has been a good servant and won off a higher mark at Thirsk around this time last year but he's closely matched with GRAMERCY on their run together at Thirsk last week. Patrick Mathers' mount is preferred to recent Leicester winner Canyari and Right Touch of the three Richard Fahey's representatives and gets a tentative vote in a wide-open contest. Tiger Jim and veteran Regal Parade are also respected but Guishan may just need her first run back on Turf.
