The grey went on to finish fourth in the Northumberland Plate but may struggle to confirm last year's running with runner-up NEARLY CAUGHT, who had a pipe-opener on the all-weather earlier this month and was unlucky not to win. Hughie Morrison's stayer deserves to win a nice prize and is preferred to Chester Cup fourth Gabrial's King, who is 3lb higher here but may still confirm form on the Roodeye with John Reel and Suegioo. William Of Orange was no match for Fun Mac off this mark at Salisbury on his reappearance but Taws and Rite To Reign are well enough treated to threaten the places and Albert Bridge is an interesting runner.
