French Navy won last year's renewal and Grandeur found the former too good in last month's Earl Of Sefton at Newmarket. Jeremy Noseda's charge should confirm latest running with Educate but needs to reverse earlier form at Lingfield with Lamar. The latter is preferred to Rydan and The Corsican but Clon Brulee may prove tougher to pass. He finished ahead of Educate when fourth in a Group 3 at Newmarket in October and should go well but a chance is taken on the returning REMOTE. John Gosden's charge showed progressive form in 2013, culminating in a Group 3 success at Royal Ascot, and entries at next month's Ascot suggests he has retained all his ability.
