    Verdict

The market should provide the best guide to the outcome of this race and the five year-old ANYAULDIRON is the selection to win it for the Nigel Twiston-Davies yard. Quite a number of the top stables have representatives in it and among them are Nicky Henderson's Steptoe, Philip Hobbs's Dare Me and Saveiro for the Alan Swinbank yard who tend to specialise with their precious bumper sorts. Anyauldiron, a half-brother to Giolla An Bhaird, a decent handicap chaser in Ireland, is bred to get better with time on his side but the yard have their string in good heart and the market will provide a good indication of his chances. Alan Swinbank has a good record with his horses in this grade and Saveiro is a rare runner down south, particularly in this grade for this yard. Mintaka Pass has a top flat pedigree being a half-brother to Oratorio, a three time Group 1 winner for Aidan O'Brien. Anyauldiron is given the nod to win it.
