CAVENDISH ROAD is open to improvement and can beat Visions Of Johanna and the progressive Bernix in this competitive handicap. The former Willie Muir inmate comes here on the back of an eye-catching run behind Ella Woodcock at Wolverhampton. He steps up to this trip for the first time but his dam was placed over this distance so there is cause for optimism in that regard. Visions Of Johanna attracted support before his run at Ffos Las and he is an interesting contender; Richard Hughes is booked and the horse now looks nicely handicapped. Bernix is going the other way in the weights after recent victories on the all-weather. His new mark of 64 may be a stumbling block but it is hard to crab his winning mentality. Holiday Cocktail is handicapped to win races, Hawaana is consistent but doesn't win as often as he should despite being well-treated on his all-weather mark, whilst Holden Eagle needs a market check on this seasonal return despite being a 13-race maiden; a tongue-tie is now tried. Oriental Cavalier is consistent and a solid option but a 3lb rise for his second to Bourne at Nottingham may leave him vulnerable off top weight so we are happy to return to Cavendish Road as the pick.
