Houston Texas defied a 244-day absence when scoring at Carlisle last month and completed a hat-trick in the process for his in-form stable. He still looks on a workable mark and now tackles Class 2 company for the first time. Another competitive run is expected. Musical Slave was a progressive handicapper last term and makes plenty of appeal on his return to action, having scored over course and distance last season. Lord Du Mesnil, also a course and distance scorer, ran well at Bangor this month and is always worth a second look around here. The jury is out on The Big Breakaway but he remains of interest too. Venetia Williams has yet to strike form but it's surely only a matter of time and her progressive FONTAINES COLLONGES is well worth a chance on a first start over this trip as she still looks on a tempting mark and all her best has come with plenty of cut. Hopefully she'll be ready to go first time up.
