Verdict

The admirable veteran Welsh Emperor is selected to land his first victory of the season despite not appearing to be the force of old. Fourth last Saturday at Chester, the fast, turning nature of the roodee appeared too much for Welsh Emperor but back at this venue and with some juice in the ground, the nine year-old can land it. The ex-Ballydoyle inmate Trinity College proved a real disappointment after been hyped up as being potentially the 'real deal' during his juvenile days. He races over seven furlongs for the first time since his two year-old career which would have to be considered a negative as he shaped as one that would require a trip. Artimino steps out of handicap company for the first time as connections options are limited given his lofty rating. He seems more effective over a mile also. On ratings it is hard to make a case for any of the remainder and Welsh Emperor is the selection.
