Nobody would begrudge Newmarket Warrior a belated first success as he's been beaten less than a length over a mile at Yarmouth and Newmarket in his last two starts. But he's much more exposed than his rivals in this and will probably find at least one too good again. Having missed the break, PERSONAL OPINION made relentless late progress over a mile here on his debut. The extra yardage is certain to suit and Charlie Appleby's colt can get the better of stablemate Deadly Approach, who also showed promise at Yarmouth despite running green, and the others. Fun Mac was third over this trip at Pontefract and could grab a place again while Ultimate Act should also stay. Battersea can only improve on debut at Newmarket and may be best of the rest.
