In depth

Verdict

Sackville is a classy performer and will be all the better for his effort behind Beef Or Salmon, over what could well be an inadequate trip now. After a promising start last year when winning the Charlie Hall Chase, his form tailed off in the spring. Freshened up by a break he could now be ready to do himself justice and is the TEAMtalk selection to win an intriguing contest. He will have to be at his best to see off course specialist Kingsmark, to whom he is giving weight. Martin Todhunter's tough grey, three times a winner here, will make sure the selection doesn't have everything his own way. Take Control is capable of a bold show, but he does have something to find with the two principals on the book, while it would come as no surprise if Red Striker were to leave his poor effort in the Hennessy behind him. The winner of this back in 2000, Bobby Grant will be better for his outing here in the Edward Hanmer, but he does have something to find with Kingsmark on that running.
