First Voyage got off the mark over 1m2f at Nottingham in the autumn but the cheekpieces he wore that day are absent here. He may be well handicapper, however, and the step up to 1m4f should suit. But the penny has dropped with MUTADAFFEQ this year and it would be no surprise if there was more to come now he encounters an easy surface – a hat-trick beckons. Marmajuke Bay is a course and distance winner but it’s difficult to make a case for any of the others on what they’ve been showing.
