In depth

Verdict

Colorado Falls won a maiden at Newmarket last year for H Cecil and was bought for 14,000 by current yard in the autumn. Successful over hurdles in June, he won an apprentice event over this CD last month and has run well in better company since then. The handicapper clobbered Coco Loco for completing a hat-trick last autumn and she is still 8lbs higher that for her last win, while Bollin Thomas was runner-up here in May before beating Sikasso by three parts of a length over this CD and may find it tough to confirm that form on 6lbs worse terms. He has since been runner-up at Chester where they broke the track record though, while Sikasso has been second in all three of his races since then - all at Hamilton. Octane comes from the stable which won this last year and he gained one of his three wins last term over ten furlongs of this track. The six-year-old was a fair second at Chester latest, but was well beaten the only time he tried a trip in excess of 12F and there must be a doubt over his stamina. No such questions about Ski For Me though, for she won over a mile in bottomless ground at Windsor as a juvenile and and is slipping down the ratings, so any support for her in the betting should be noted.
