Verdict
Somnus and Bahamian Pirate would have obvious claims on the pick of their form but both would prefer a softer surface so the vote goes to Indian Trail, who is taken to follow up his recent Newcastle success. The David Nicholls-trained gelding was good value for his win at Gosforth Park and, with ground conditions to suit, he is taken to follow up. Beckermet lost no caste in defeat behind a back-to-form Fayr Jag at Newcastle last time and has to be respected on that evidence, while Kodiac is probably best watched on his first start in the UK this term. Andronikos would have claims on the pick of his form but is inconsistent and a better bet looks to be the progressive Indian Trail.
