Macorville went really close in last week's Northumberland Plate but can gain compensation here on the quagmire ground that he loves, while Akarem looks worth each way consideration and Celtic Spirit, Misty Dancer and Realism are also considered. Macorville won over c&d in the mud last September and is at his best when he can get his toe in. His run at Newcastle proved that he has bags of stamina but the drop back to this trip should not inconvenience either and he can get back to winning ways. Celtic Spirit is another who enjoys cut and comes here on the back of a Salisbury win over 10f. He has never won beyond that distance and strictly on pedigree there has to be a doubt that he'll get home here. Misty Dancer will definitely do that and relishes juice in the ground too. Richard Fahey's gelding scored comfortably last time and has a clear chance again here. Mudlark Akarem has dropped in the handicap and could go well at a price, but preference is for Macorville, who has plenty going for him.
