Verdict

Rising Cross carries a penalty in this Group 2 contest but can still be a major player, although preference is for Macleya, while Ragazza Mio and Dash To The Front are other serious challengers. Macleya is sent over by Andre Fabre and has already won in Gropu 3 company in France, while she was only just touched off in the Group 2 Prix Corrida last time. She relishes cut in the ground and this test looks ideal for her. Rising Cross took last year's Park Hill when it was run at York and she is a thorough stayer who rarely runs a bad race. Out of her depth last time, this will be much more her dish, but the ground is not in her favour. Another French raider, Ragazza Mio steps up in class here. She would have a bit to find with the selection but acts with plenty of cut and can make a bold showing. Of the others, Dash To The Front was a soft ground Warwick winner last time and it is interesting that James Fanshawe pitches her in at this level, so perhaps he thinks that there is more to come from her, but Macleya has the right credentials to land this prize.
