Verdict
With the exception of a moderate run on good to firm ground, NELLIE LEYLAX has proved a good servant to Tom Dascombe as he looks to re-establish himself in the training ranks, and the son of Calyx was particularly impressive on soft ground last time over this trip. He's down in grade here and can defy topweight with his pilot claiming the handy 3lb. Paladin toughed it out well to score over course and distance and should deliver another positive account with conditions to suit on handicap debut. Beyond Borders was a tad disappointing when beaten at odds-on last time and will have to improve on that evidence, and therefore Watcha Matey is added to the shortlist as he continues to run well despite retaining maiden status. He is unproven on the forecast ground though.
