Although plenty hold chances in this competitive handicap, there were plenty of positives to draw from the last two starts from Quicks The Word, who gets the nod over fellow in-form rivals Apache Point, Double Ransom and Parisian Playboy, whose penalty does not look excessive at this level and is feared the most today. Rymer's Rascal holds Fair Spin on recent course and distance form and is another that can go well for each-way backers. However, like a few of the rest, he is hard to win with and at the age of twelve, it is hard to see sufficient improvement being forthcoming. Parisian Playboy bolted up at Newcastle on Wednesday and looks sure to attract his share of support this evening. However, that was in a weaker race than this and he will do well to follow up under his penalty here. Which brings us back to Quicks The Word, who has improved since stepped up to this trip and makes the most appeal at the likely prices on offer.
