A furiously competitive sprint can go to the in-form Ellens Academy, who just edges the vote over Pieter Brueghel and River Falcon, who both now have something to find with the selection and may have to settle for minor honours. Cases can be made for a number of the rest and the likes of the improving Compton's Eleven and Pinchbeck are entitled to go close on the best of their efforts. Whereas Hit's Only Money has simply not looked the same horse since his return to action and is struggling to find his form. The trip did not appear to be the issue with him last time and he looks to be one to have severe reservations about for the time being. Pieter Brueghel is a speedy individual on his day and looks a prime candidate to drag them along. However, he will struggle to confirm the form with Ellens Academy on 3lb worse terms than the last time they came into opposition. River Falcon was also well held by Eric Alston's charge the last two times he has taken him on and it is hard to see him reversing the positions from his current mark. Compton's Eleven could be the surprise package of the race as he gets a handy weight for age allowance today. Even so, he in turn is expected to find Ellens Academy too wily a customer to deal with as he has plenty in his favour today.
