Verdict

With Spectrometer having disappointed at York on his return to the flat and Tom Paddington better on a softer surface, this is probably best left to Reveillez, who is at least in form and goes on the ground. The selection was probably in need of the run on his reappearance and stepped up on that when finding just Sergeant Cecil too good at Sandown subsequently. Sure to strip fitter for that and with the Fanshawe stable in such good order at present, he looks worth a bet. Spectrometer has to be respected but went to York fit from hurdling and there is no reason why he should improve for the run. Allinjim finished behind the Philip Hobbs-trained gelding that day and should not reverse the form on the revised terms and, unless the rain falls, it is difficult to recommend Tom Paddington. Nightwatchman is 1lb wrong at the weights and is out of form.
