King Carnival probably has the best form of those with racing experience but this is likely to go to one of the newcomers with Unrivalled getting the verdict over Duke of Venice. By Unfuwain, the selection is bred to appreciate further in due course but this full-brother to the useful stayer Sweetness Herself may have too much class for his rivals. Duke Of Venice also takes the eye on breeding but Mark Johnston's juveniles normally improve for the run. Richard Hannon has done well with his two-year-olds this term so a market move for Matt Blanc would be of interest, while Mick Channon's string seems to have hit a lean spell recently so Barg is probably best watched for the time being. King Carnival improved on his debut effort when fifth at Goodwood recently and has to be respected along with Alan Berry's Dress Pearl but neither represents particularly good form and, as we have said, this is likely to go to one of the newcomers.
