Another tough race to call here for punters with very little public form to go on, but the principals look to be Alhaadh, Emerald Bay, Golden Grimshaw and Pace Shot and the narrow vote is given to the last named. The selection was well touted before his debut and ultimately was very disappointing. However he is sure to have learnt from the experience and he is given the chance to enhance his reputation today. Alhaadh rates the main danger as he was sent off favourite on his only run of last season. He hails from a very shrewd yard and has reportedly been going well at home so he should be closely watched in the market. Emerald Bay is one of the most experienced in the field and was a good second last time out behind Celticello, but he may be vulnerable to a less exposed type and for that reason he is overlooked. Golden Grimshaw was a fair fourth on his debut behind Industrial Spirit but he gave the impression he would be seen to better effect over a longer trip on that occasion and for that reason he is passed over today. Of the remainder, Tillands is another well-bred type from a top yard who should be watched in the market but for the winner we return to Pace Shot.
