Most of the leading contenders handle soft going in a competitive renewal. John Gosden has won three of the last five runnings and his Furia Cruzada steps back up in trip after a decent second to the higher-rated Usherette at Ascot. She’s preferred to stablemate and maiden winner Lady Of Camelot. Endless Time showed good progress last year signing off with a Listed win at Naas and Loving Things made a winning return in Listed company over today’s trip at Pontefract. Fireglow is another pattern winner but steps up to 1m4f for the first time, though Carnachy continues to improve with a recent placed effort in the Group 3 Aston Park at Newbury. Lustrous and Miss Marjurie filled the places in last year’s renewal with the former preferred on today’s going but NIGHTFLOWER (NAP) makes most appeal. A Group 1 winner in her native Germany last year, with the 110-rated Dubday a couple of lengths back in third, Peter Schiergen’s filly may just have the measure of these.
