In depth
Verdict
Pivotal's Princess will be the one to beat if back to her best, however that isn't guaranteed and so a safer option looks to be Blue Echo and she gets the nod ahead of Riotous Applause and Loch Verdi. Blue echo comes here on the back of a facile success at Chester and shouldn't be inconvenienced by this drop back to five furlongs. She has won on various ground so conditions will not be a problem unless we get torrential rain. She has bags of early dash and can continue the good record of three-year-old's in this race. Mimi Mouse is better on flatter tracks, whilst Day By Day comes here in good form and should be respected although it is certainly a tougher race than she has been contesting. Morinqua is like a greyhound early on but was below par when last seen and needs to bounce back, as does Final Dynasty. Blue Rocket is an interesting contender as she drops markedly in trip having been absent since contesting the 1000 Guineas; she would prefer the rain to stay away. Loch Verdi has won over course and distance but is another who prefers livelier ground, so of more interest may be Pivotal's Princess who is the class act but hasn't been firing on all cylinders of late. A tough contest, and Blue Echo is fancied to land the spoils.
