Another penalty on her back may not be enough to stop the very progressive filly THE LAST ALZAO following a facile win at Beverly on Tuesday. The selection was a comfortable winner for the family last time out in a female amateur rider¿s race just the other day and is quickly turned out. She has shown marked improvement since stepping up in trip and the return to this distance should certainly not hinder her progress. Gulf President was well-held last time and is yet to break his maiden duck; his best run is the three-length fifth to Sequillo at Windsor in May. The step back up in trip should suit Real Desire on this handicap bow, whilst Alicante is a potential improver for the step up in trip and the stable are on a roll now. She missed an engagement the other day and it will be intriguing to see how she moves in the betting. Berriedale's mark took a hammering following a Classified Stakes win at Beverely in May and she is yet to recover. Tillietudlem shaped with more promise last time, whilst Penolva is a handicap debutante who is very well bred and shaped with plenty of promise last time at Newbury; a mark of 57 looks lenient in this winnable race, especially as the horse that beat her by 3/4 length last time is rated 83. However The Last Alzao comes here in the best form and is preferred.
