A competitive heat where among those with chances are Dingaan, Diriculous and Peter Island and we will side with Dingaan. The Andrew Balding-trained selection is not easy to win with, but he is back on a good mark, comes from a yard in form, and is generally going well himself, so today may well be his turn over his optimum trip. Diriculous is another going well and he was a c&d scorer last month before being held off this mark at Windsor last time. He has done all his winning at 6f and has a good strike rate, so he is very much respected. Peter Island, like the selection, has been knocking on the door just lately, and has won off this sort of mark on the polytrack before, so success is not beyond question this time. Everymanforhimself won off a mark of 90 at Beverley and has winning form over 6f, so the return to this slightly easier grade than at Hamilton last time suggests he will go close. There are others in this tricky contest with the ability to win if on a going day, but our tentative selection is Dingaan.
