Mushtaaq is far from straightforward but that accusation can't be levelled at Trip The Light who may have more to fear from Beautiful Lady and Benhego. The selection started life off at a lowly level but the wearing of a visor has proved key to him as he has won all three starts in the headgear. The handicapper has taken a dim view of his achievements as he lines up on a 10lb higher mark than when winning at Redcar but he gave every indication that there was more to come and is selected. Mushtaaq may yet find a race and Richard Hills will deserve his plaudits if it's this one as the gelding ran in snatches when ahead of Blue Citadel and Lemonesse last time. Benhego just got run out of it last time having looked the likeliest winner for much of the closing stages but is still relatively inexperienced and is very much one for the short-list. Supporters of Beautiful Lady need to forgive a poor run at Haydock but that came in bottomless ground and she had looked progressive prior to that. This surface may well enable her to get back on track but we'll take Trip The Light to grind out victory this afternoon.
