PLAVIUS is the selection with Red Jade and Qeyadda as the alternatives. The visor has been reached for on the apparent Godolphin first string. The switch up to ten furlongs appeared to yield little fruit and it is to be hoped that the boys in blue can recoup a smidgen of their 9.2 million US$ outlay here. Red Jade has a poor draw but is another bred very much in the blue. The Dubai Destination colt is a half-brother to West Wind and Redbridge, so if any of those genes have made their way through - he has to be a player. Qeyaada is another big money acquistion. There is plenty of reason to believe that a mile holds few fears although the trainer is not noted as a prolific trainer of first time out winners. Admiral Arry is relatively modest in terms of pricetags but is one to note at longer odds from the Gerard Butler yard. Alqaffay has been rejected by Frankie Dettori. A half brother to the smart but quirky, Echo Of Light, he could literally be anything. Mutawahej is on a third racecourse appearance and will make infinitely more appeal when tried in handicaps next time. Intabih is probably best of the rest. A strong maiden in terms of potential and Plavius gets his drink in the last chance saloon.
