Verdict

The Hannon team won this last year and Millers Wharf looks the strongest challenger of the yard's five runners today. He faded close home over 7f at Ascot last time and will appreciate the shorter trip. Stablemate Bold Prediction makes a quick reappearance after a head defeat at Salisbury on Saturday but Garswood looks a bigger threat after a promising debut third at York. However, NENGE MBOKO was beaten less than a length at Epsom last time when five lengths clear of the rest of the field and he can land this with Frankie taking over the reins and further progress expected. Saint Jerome and Huntsmans Close will have easier tasks than this in the future while African Oil's entry in the Champagne Stakes suggests he could prove best of the newcomers.
