GHAIDAA can redeem her reputation by taking this prize whilst Lee Miller has to be on the shortlist along with Algarade. Michael Jarvis' filly caught the eye when running Ribblesdale second Arthur's Girl to half a length on debut and was well supported to win a Newcastle Listed race following her maiden success. She failed to run her race in rain softened ground on that occasion but she may be able to reproduce her best form back on this surface and the fact that she holds a Group 1 entry for later in the week is an indication of the regard in which she is held. Algarade is better berthed and also returns to the rank and file after a tilt at Listed level in Germany. Runners from her yard should never be taken lightly but she does appear to be on a stiff enough mark for what she has achieved. Lee Miller took second behind the smart Red Dune here on her penultimate start but made hard work of landing the odds at Pontefract next time. She certainly has scope for improvement and market confidence behind her chance would be worth noting but those behind her here haven't really advertised the form. Perfect Star has a long absence to overcome, Farley Star needs to improve for this longer trip and one or two of these are beginning to look exposed. That isn't true of Maryqueenofscots, Maramba and Asfurah's Dream but the first named will do well to win this on just her second start, the second named hasn't shone in two starts this year and the last of the trio has plenty to prove having landed a modest maiden. Fongs Gazelle is only 1lb higher than when winning this last year but this year's renewal looks a better race and Ghaidaa can take the honours before stepping back up in grade.
