McQueen gets a tentative vote over Anisette, Chorus and Open Handed in a tricky finale. An amateur riders event is not the best of getting-out stakes, but we shall nominate McQueen on the strength of a fair effort at Nottingham 10 days ago. Heather Dalton's charge tried to make all in that apprentice race, and although brushed aside in the end by Artistic Style, showed enough to suggest that he can make another bold bid to make all. He might just last out on this occasion as none of his rivals are any great shakes, the best perhaps being Chorus who stayed one over six furlongs in moderate company at Wolverhampton. Anisette probably needs further judged on a staying on third over a mile at Yarmouth in what was another poor contest, while Mobo-Baco is lumbered with topweight for past efforts. An uninspiring affair can go to McQueen.
