Soviet Song can carve out a repeat of last year's victory in this Group 1 contest, with Proclamation, Nayyir and Sleeping Indian fighting out the minors. James Fanshawe's outstanding mare meets Nayyir on the same terms as when beating him by a head in last year's renewal, and she showed that she was back to her best in taking the Falmouth last time. She handles cut and can make it back-to-back wins in the race. Nayyir again looks a strong challenger, while Proclamation also handles cut and can get heavily involved judged by his outstanding success in the Jersey Stakes last time. The other contender to look out for is Sleeping Indian. As yet undefeated from three starts, John Gosden now pitches him in at the top level. He too gets the trip and handles the ground, so he cannot be discounted. But Soviet Song has the best form on offer and she is the one they all have to beat.
