In depth

Verdict

The three main contenders in the opener are Supreme Charter, Tallyhobye and Crusader¿s Gold with the vote going to the last named. The Tim Easterby trained colt had been relatively disappointing before the penny dropped and ran a personal best when an eye catching third at Catterick last time out. He was not beaten far that day and with lesser opposition to contend with today and with further improvement likely he is one to stay on the right side of. Of his rivals Supreme Charter ran with credit last time out when fourth of fourteen beaten eight lengths at Redcar and is worth noting in the market. The same can be said for Tallyhobye who was only four lengths behind the winner at Catterick on his latest start and again has to be considered. But for the winner we return to Crusader¿s Gold.
