In this Listed handicap for fillies, we will side with Ronaldsay ahead of La Spezia and Summer's Eve. Ronaldsay was a desperately unlucky loser over course and distance last time, flying home but the post came too soon. A four-pounds rise in the ratings may not stop her from going in. A return to her Listed class form of last season would give Summer's Eve good claims and she makes her handicap debut today. Cliche's Sandown Listed run last time was solid enough and her trainer will probably be able to get some more improvement from her. Russian Rosie was two and a half lengths behind her at Sandown. Samira Gold looked good prior to flopping here over 12 furlongs last time when she got worked up before the start. If in better form today, she could go well. La Spezia has already run pretty well at this level and Group3 level and has a profile that says that she can go well. Others to consider are the John Smith's Cup fourth Flying Clarets, Measured Tempo, although she beat only one home last time in the Oaks, and Irish raider High Tempo. For the selection, though, we will stick with Ronaldsay.
