In a fascinating opener on the card, Duke Of Tuscany is given a narrow vote over the promising Grand Diamond and newcomer Docofthebay. The selection improved enormously from its debut when wore down close home by Caldra in a decent maiden at Salisbury. The race was over 7f but the son of Medicean looks sure to be suited by this step up of a furlong and can be a another winner for champion-elect Ryan Moore. Grand Diamond, trainer by Amanda Perrett, finished an eye-catching fifth behind impressive debutant Raincoat at Sandown. That run was over six weeks ago and the son of Grand Lodge missed an engagement at Newmarket last week after a setback. He may well need the run and second is the best he can hope for. Of the unraced brigade, the one that catches the eye is Jamie Osborne's Docofthebay. The ¿35,000 son of Docksider has a decent pedigree and any market moves should be noted.
