In depth

Verdict

Just five runners for this Group three contest but it is a fascinating contest. We will side with Brahminy Kite, who can get the better of The Geezer, Unfurled may do best of the other three. The selection and The Geezer met at Royal York in the Edward The Seventh Stakes won by Plea Bargain. Brahminy Kite was runner up, with The Geezer just three-quarters of a length behind. Since then the selection has taken on top company in the Irish Derby where he wasn't beaten too far. He should be capable of landing a Group three event. The Geezer has since been successful in a listed event at Haydock and should be the main threat to our selection. Unfurled landed the Predominate Stakes here back in May before getting well beaten in the Derby. He may not have handled that tricky tack and we could see a better display this afternoon. First Row and Cape Greko complete the line up and both appear to have a bit to find and so that brings us back to Brahminy Kite as our idea of the winner.
