Amanto ran over hurdles and fences for Paul Nicholls without managing a victory but has done well for Ali Stronge, winning twice on Polytrack at Lingfield. OCTOBER STORM had been operating at a slightly higher level before coming here for a Class 5 handicap over 1m6f and winning with something to spare from Ayr Of Elegance. He's up 5lb so the runner-up can get closer without reversing the form. Medburn Cutler is very consistent and takes a drop in class after his fourth at Ascot but Akavit only won a low-grade handicap at Chepstow and is 4lb higher. Under Attack would have to be considered if taking his chance but was engaged at Lingfield yesterday.
