Verdict

Horsted Keynes is generally consistent though hasn't won for over three years and still looks a couple of pounds high. Gossiping had been in excellent form on Polytrack before coming here earlier this month so it was a surprise that he was sent off a 25/1 chance in a lucrative handicap at this level. He came through nicely to lead inside the final furlong and ,with just 3lb extra, will make a bold bid to complete a double. Castle Harbour completed a double in his first starts last spring before facing better company. He's been dropped 3lb from a moderate run at Newmarket and that should help him get competitive. SHADY McCOY won here in July and, after some ordinary performances, bounced back with a cracking effort in the Victoria Cup at Ascot so he's handed the vote in a very open handicap. Mutawathea returns from Dubai and, though possibly in need of the run, his close second in last year's Victoria Cup put him right in the picture.
