Beauchamp Ribbon comes here seeking a fourth straight win in just a month, and Gerard Butler's filly is fancied to defy a five pound penalty, at the main expense of topweight Rudood. Alec Stewart's colt makes his handicap debut here, having got off the mark in maiden company at Leicester last time when facing a simple task. He looks the type to improve as the year goes on, and will be no pushover here, but Beauchamp Ribbon will still take some beating. Dropped into selling company for the first time, she bolted up at Bath last month and that seemed to do her confidence the world of good, as she followed that with wins in better races at Brighton and Chepstow. She now carries a five pound penalty for that latest win last week, when she scored by a facile four lengths from Half Inch. Earlier in her career, Beauchamp Ribbon's temperament had looked suspect, but she seems to have matured now and she looks a horse to follow until beaten.
