The majority of these have proved expensive failures up to now but Silk Hall has proved himself a horse that is slowly beginning to get to grip with the game and can land it for the David Arbuthnot stable. The selection has tended to make life difficult for himself by rearing up leaving the stalls and forfeiting ground as a consequence. The stiff climb at Sandown allowed him to move through the field in the closing stages and the step up to two miles will undoubtedly suit while the current ease in ground conditions is also likely to favour him. Hamsat Elqamar has looked moderate in her three outings to date, plugging on at the one pace when headed. She would have claims on her performance in a Newmarket maiden in mid-May but since then has been stepped up in trip and competed on a livelier surface which brought about poorer performances. Blue Citadel looked very one paced at Lingfield last time out and whether the ground will be soft enough for Amanda Perrett's charge is debatable while Tobago Bay has been in fine heart of late in juvenile hurdles and could be well handicapped judged on those efforts. This free going sort is likely to make this a true test of stamina. Market support for King Of Pentacles would make him of some interest while Miss Cruisecontrol was noted staying on in the closing stages behind the very easy winner Hawk Mountain last time and if ridden more handily could reward each way supporters. Silk Hall is the selection to come home in front.
