Chevronne is easily the best of those with experience, and is marginally preferred to the well-bred debutant, Three Graces, in an uncompetitive finale. Chevronne showed nothing in his sole juvenile start, but Gerald Cottrell's gelding put up a vastly improved display to finish third of 18 behind the newcomer Lindop in a decent maiden at Newbury on his reappearance. Although he will encounter faster ground this evening, this looks to be a far less competitive event and he is taken to get off the mark. Three Graces is a Marcus Tregoning-trained colt who is a son of Peintre Celebre and bred to be fairly useful, so he is likely to be the main danger to the selection.
